FM2012 Support: Slow download when using steam
Lets be honest, steam is a great app but sometimes their servers just cannot cope with the load or it just performs badly. Sometimes its just the users fault however so if you're having slow download speeds on steam you can try the following to see if it helps.
Make sure your settings are correct.
- Navigate to settings going through - View > Settings
- Make sure you have setup your region and also your connection speed.
- You can also try other regions in case the UK link is having problems in this particular example.
Common tips to get better speeds
- Don't download other stuff while downloading/updating the game.
- Make sure anti virus is not continiously checking files being downloaded (unlikely).
- Ensure your router or firewall is configured correctly, won't go into detail here.
- Make sure your ethernet cables don't have cuts in them creating data skew.
- If you're using wireless then make sure your signal strength is good and there is nothing that could be causing interference.
- If you're PC has been on a long time, reboot it!
