FM2009 Installing Logos

One question I have seen crop up a lot of is users asking now to install skins for FM2009 so read on below to find out how. The guide is small so make sure you read it all to understand how to install skins.

Where to put the files

The biggest problem reported by downloaders of skins and other graphics is "where do I put them"? Its actually very simple.

First of all you must have a skins folder, if its not there you must create it. So go to your Sports Interactive folder in my documents and create one.

Scenario, you have installed windows XP on your C drive, your location would be:

C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\skins

Some users will not see graphics so go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\

Right click and select - New - Folder and name it 'graphics'. Now go into this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\

Right click again and select - New - Folder and name it 'skins'.

Now your folder is all setup.

In windows Vista its pretty much the same setup, install to your documents folder, the paths are named slightly different.

How to unpack files

If you're unsure how to use winrar or winzip to unpack files then read our guide here.

In game settings to enable skins

For skins to show you must make sure you have some options selected in preferences in the game.

1. Show backrounds must be Ticked.
2. Skin cache must be Unticked.
3. Reload skin on confirm Ticked (If the game is open as you install)
