The latest release of FM2009 got a bit of a slagging off last year when a minority of the community said there was really nothing new apart from the 3D engine. I didn't think so personally but I don't play as much as I used to due to other things. I do feel however there are parts of the game that need improving and there are some more features I would love to be added, and thats what this article is all about, my ideas. Feel free to comment on what you would like to see added.
New interface
I used to love the old Championship manager style interface and when it was changed I was not happy even though ive grown to like the current one I want a complete overhaul, freshen it up a bit.
More interaction with the chairman
Im not sure however exactly to achieve this but im sure with the hundreds of thousands of players of the game some ideas can be presented here. Chairmans get involved everywhere, I don't believe there is many clubs where they dont stick there nose in where it isnt wanted.
More events concerning players
Football players are celebs without a doubt now and stories are published daily and some aren't so nice and im sure it affects players reading these. Obviously I dont need 10 news items a day about how x got some girl pregnant and now his wife wants a divorce spammed but i think you get what I mean.
Director of football & foreign styles
In some countries such as Spain, Italy and previously some clubs in England the style of management setup is different. Generally there is a head coach and manager but the head coach is what us English would consider a manager. I would like some sort of style incorporated into the game to reflect this and as such will influence what you can do as head coach/manager.
You should be able to interact with each other, so even falling out. Something creative could be done here.
Be the chairman
Im sorry but im once of those people who has dreamed of having a game where you can be just the chairman. When you think about it what could you do but its a mini game within a larger one I guess. I'm sure a game existed on the amiga or even commadore but have never found it.
This could be made into something interesting im sure.
More for international managers
I think still there is not enough for managers who choose to manager a national team. Some sort of area to look at detailed stats for players who could play is one idea. The FA should ask you to do certain functions that you can decide against causing a rift. Then there is contracts, internation managers get paid too so sort this out.
I can't say ive tried international management in FM2009.
Youth
One addition was the youth day part of FM2009 but this can be built on big time, youth players are key at clubs like Arsenal and this area needs a lot of work. Arranging deals with parents, youth scouts working in this area is surely common using Arsenal again, Arsene setup a network of people to track the best youth players in the world.
