Well the demo for FM2009 is finally out, so what do you make of it? Not tried? If not then below is a little first impression review of the game.
3D match engine
It seems pretty cool so far apart from the flickering I constantly see at the top of screen but bugs are going to be there for any game. I was pretty skeptical about them adding this to the game but its working well, and im sure with some tweaks it will be even better.
Press Confrences
One of the first things you will notice when starting a new game is the press conferences. This is a really cool feature I like a lot. Answer carefully as these press people don't forget what you say! They like a good story so your answers influence the next question. I don't think they believed me when I hyped up how Southend United would be having a great season under me :/
Transfer rumours
I have to say after a few weeks in game this part really got pretty annoying, constantly hearing who I was linked with, but lets face it, it IS part of the game. How must Wenger feel when he sees that he is about to sign someone he hasn't even thought about? The transfer part of the game was re-written so that rumours were in the game a lot more, so be careful when you check out a player, next day you could be signing them according to football365!
Trial days
I thought I would write about this as I came across trial days early on in the game and thought it was very cool. After watching a trial game between some English players I signed a few on trial, this could be a good way of bringing in a few future stars, sadly my selection turned out to be complete turd! This is a nice way of bringing in a few younsters to fill up your youth team, especially if playing with a lower league team.
Bugs
I've noticed a few bugs in the game and would recommend you save on a regular basis due to one in particular.
Game crash when trying to negotiate a players contract.
Flickering with large screen display when viewing game in 3D
When starting a new game I noticed typing was very strange, typing Mark ended up displaying Maarrrrrrrkkkk.
